Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement
As a global company with a diverse employee, supplier, and client base, Perficient knows that creating and maintaining a collaborative, diverse, and inclusive culture is not only the right thing to do for our colleagues but is also one of the keys to our success. Perficient believes that innovation is best achieved when we have considered every perspective, understand that diversity and inclusion are constant pursuits, and recognize our responsibility to help drive equity throughout Perficient and the broader industry.
This is evident in Perficient’s “every voice matters” approach to doing business and supporting its employees. Perficient understands and recognizes that ethnicity is one form of diversity, and, as of December 31, 2022, over 75% of Perficient’s employee base identifies as Asian, Hispanic or Latinx, Black or African American, American Indian or Alaskan Native.
Perficient respects and values its colleagues’ diverse perspectives and insights which are shaped in part by each individual’s unique life experience which may be influenced by their race, religion, national origin, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, family structure, socio-economic background, and military/veteran status. In a survey of Perficient’s global colleague population conducted in 2022, approximately 90% of respondents believe that Perficient encourages a culture that is “committed to diversity, inclusion and belonging” and that individual differences are respected at Perficient.
The concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion are foundational to many of Perficient’s employment practices such as recruitment, interviewing practices, candidate pools, work schedules, and social programs. Specifically, Perficient seeks to continually improve its hiring practices by reviewing job descriptions, validating inclusive language, posting current openings on sites with diverse audience targets, and deploying recruiter training initiatives.
Not only do Perficient’s employment practices and policies strictly prohibit discrimination or harassment based on colleagues’ diverse characteristics (including race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, genetic information, disability, or veteran status), but we also make it clear to our colleagues that their interactions with one another should always be grounded in dignity and respect. Perficient’s annual colleague training and development program includes instruction and training regarding workplace harassment, unconscious bias, and valuing and protecting diversity in the workplace, among other important topics. Creating a respectful and inclusive environment for our colleagues is not limited to the workday, and Perficient includes diversity, equity, and inclusion as a consideration for all formal and informal company sponsored functions.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion also play a material role in Perficient’s efforts in the area of professional development. Efforts in this area include sponsoring company-wide Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and Special Interest Groups (SIGs) to support employees in a variety of ways including Women in Technology, Perficient Gives, Cultural Connections, LiveWell and others. Perficient colleagues across the globe are empowered to make a difference in their own communities through the Giving ERG which supports colleague led efforts related to donations, advocacy, and in-person volunteer efforts.
Perficient also partners with other organizations on community-based programs and bootcamps designed to encourage women and historically underrepresented members of the tech industry, such as the Bright Paths Program and Mark Cuban Bootcamp. Perficient strives to make it easy for its colleagues to support nonprofits that support diversity, equity, and inclusion by including nonprofits in our Perficient Gives charitable match program which focus on issues such as increasing the percentage of women in computer science, advancing opportunities in STEM education for young people from all walks of life, improving physical and mental health and wellbeing, and supporting individuals affected by mental illness.
Perficient will continue to listen to and learn from its diverse colleagues, the broader industry, and the communities across the globe which our colleagues call home. Perficient appreciates the overwhelming support that it receives in the initiatives and efforts described in this statement from its employees, partners, and communities worldwide.
